Whether taking less costs less here depends on the drug. Sesame Care prescribes brand-name GLP-1s only, and the Wegovy pen costs the same at every dose once its two-month introductory price ends, so a quarter dose of it costs what a full one does. The Foundayo pill is the exception, priced by dose and cheapest at the bottom of its range. Either way the medication is only half the bill, because the care subscription is charged on its own, and the lowest rate needs a year's commitment. What it does well is choice. You pick your clinician, meet by video, and can start without a needle on either of two pills. Lab work at Quest is included in most states, prescriptions can be picked up the same day, and insurance can cover the medication. The cost of a wrong start is the first month, which is not refunded once your initial visit has happened.

Sesame Care runs Success by Sesame, a weight-loss program in which you pick a clinician, meet by video, and get ongoing messaging and follow-up visits. The care subscription is billed on its own, and the medication is paid separately at a pharmacy, picked up the same day locally or delivered. It prescribes brand-name GLP-1s only: Wegovy as a pill and as a pen, Ozempic, Zepbound as a vial and a pen, and the Foundayo pill. There is no compounded product and no microdose program. How a small dose is billed depends on the drug: the Wegovy pen costs the same at every dose after a two-month introductory price at the two lowest doses, while Foundayo is priced by dose and costs least at the bottom of its range. Lab work at Quest is included in the subscription except in nine states. Insurance can be used for the medication. A cancellation at least three hours before the first visit is refunded in full; after that visit, the first month is not refunded.
